I’ve been wanting to write about the reality of work and money as a full-time creative person for a while, and now I see why it took me so long: It’s an emotional topic that brings up all kinds of feelings I wasn’t even completely conscious of.

I have been enormously fortunate in my career, and I have also struggled with the combo of money and writing for all kinds of reasons.
