How did you know today was the day I had planned to go through my wardrobe? Ahah fantastic article, I enjoy your perspective. Personal style is a nut I just can’t seem to crack. I spend my life in jeans, sneakers and tee shirts and it frustrates me to no end. Sometimes I feel good in it, most times I feel like a teenager and I don’t like it. I struggle to find clothes for late 30’s women beyond corporate looking or art school teacher vibes. In Australia fashion is just… not it. Every time
I go to Myer or David Jones, I feel personally offended 😂
You also share my distaste for the overuse of the word “curated”. I go on a rant every time I see it used for no reason. It’s probably very annoying.
I’m right here with you… graphic tees and high rise wide leg jeans all day every day (when I’m not in the presence of people I need to sell to). The only thing I can say is THIS IS a style and there’s definitely a way to elevate the classic comfy combo, if that’s what you’re searching for: topping it with a timeless jacket silhouette, investing in really good denim, layering with jewelry or scarves, etc. But it definitely has to feel authentic to YOU. At least that’s what I’m gleaning from Mari here! And Mari, Gah!! Feel better soon and best of luck in the editing dungeon!!
Ah just the way you are saying it makes it sound already much better. Also high rise wide leg jean, yes, very much yes! 💜 the details do matter. A simple look like this can be elevated by small touches. It’s true that I already feel better these days since I decided to fix my hair. Thank you so much for your comment, style is a prickly issue out here for some reason.
And thinking of you Mari in editing dungeon. Good luck 🤞
I loved this piece, as always :) And Nuuly is such a joy -- it gave me the freedom to try some more wild styles that I might not have actually bought for my wardrobe, but loved wearing for a few weeks! I think fashion is such a fun expression of creativity
Good tips but I just can’t motivate myself to search for the clothes that light me up (and research sustainable sources). It’s sounds fun at first to scour the internet for new things to wear but after ordering online, trying on and sending back a million things that don’t suit me I just tire out. I want to love cultivating my style but it’s just exhausting to me to find something I like that fits (and isn’t fast fashion).
Hoping you feel less Covidy with each passing day, our Queen Blueberry. Keep breathing. <3
